Well, the time has come for me to share another postive birth story. And today it’s a positive natural birth story.

One of the best ways to stay in a positive mindset in the lead up to your birth is to immerse yourself in positivity around birth. At least that’s what today’s mum thinks and that’s exactly what she did.
Melissa is a mum from my local home birth group who had her little girl a month after I had mine. I first heard her birth story as told by her husband Tim at the group and immediately I knew I wanted to help get her story out there. I didn’t know I was going to do the podcast then, I thought I’d include it in my book – but it’s much nicer hearing a story like this, rather than reading it, don’t you think?
Before she was pregnant, Melissa had fully intended to have an elected c-section because she was scared of the birth. Instead, she had a natural home birth. Listen to her journey as she shares how she shifted her thinking and what she did to prepare for her natural home birth.
Some of the things that Melissa shares include
- the books she read, including the book by one of my previous podcast guests, Sophie Fletcher: Mindful Hypnobirthing.
- the mindful hypnobirthing course she attended run by Mindful Mamma.
- the sources of positivity she sought out to immerse herself in
- hiring a doula
