How epigenetics can help with pregnancy symptoms, interview with Charan Surdhar

Alexia cleared her own tokophobia and developed a method that has helped women clear theirs for more than 10 years.

Being pregnant sucks. Well, it can suck; especially if you experience hardcore pregnancy symptoms. And even more so if the pregnancy symptoms just keep on coming, or get even worse. It can feel really frustrating and overwhelming, particularly as some medications aren’t suitable in pregnancy. And when a quick Google search or a trip to the doctor tells you that you have to put up with this until your baby arrives, it can lead to feelings of helplessness and desperation. That can create an undercurrent of stress that doesn’t help you prepare for a fear-free birth.

In this episode, my guest shares her view that working with epigenetics can help with pregnancy symptoms.

To explain her approach, on today’s podcast I’m chatting to epigeneticist Charan Surdhar. Charan works a lot with women who are on their pregnancy journey, but even before, when they’re trying to conceive.

Charan Surdhar is a geneticist by training who now describes herself as an epigeneticist. She has a BSc in Microbiology and an MSc in Human Genetics. She worked in the field of genetics for 13 years, identifying genetic mutations for a whole host of genetic diseases and contributed to scientific papers as well as textbooks. Today, her work focuses on the emotions, beliefs and perceptions she believes affect gene expression. She has been featured on the Hidden Science TV show, and also for the upcoming movie Punk Science. She runs her own blogtalkradio show, once a month at www.blogtalkradio.com/mind-body-spirit-u.She is also an author of a book which you can find here www.hebathehoop.com. She has a huge passion to create animated videos to explain in a simple way, concepts such as epigenetics, which you can find on her youtube channel. www.charansurdhar.com

During our chat, Charan shares

  • what epigenetics is and how she uses it
  • some of the studies she sees as supporting her approach
  • which pregnancy symptoms she works with
  • her view on what morning sickness can be a sign of
  • how she works with couples who are experiencing fertility issues, or who are trying to conceive

I first interviewed Charan on my Head Trash Show podcast and you can listen to that interview.

During our chat, I also share my personal story of pelvic girdle pain during my pregnancy, and how, in my case, it eased overnight after I used The Emotion Code by Dr Bradley Nelson (affiliate link). It’s an easy-to-follow self-help book, and I used it throughout my pregnancy whenever a new symptom reared its ugly head. If you have pelvic girdle pain, do tell your midwife: physiotherapy can help.

Are you currently suffering from some challenging pregnancy symptoms? Did you suffer with difficult pregnancy symptoms when you were pregnant? How did you cope with them? Have you got any tricks to share? Let me know in the comments!

My wife has written a great pregnancy book and will be a wonderful interview. Very, very helpful.
According to Intuitive Pregnancy Coach and Spiritual Energy Healer Sandra Jones-Keller, this New Age requires new communication techniques with the babies coming into the Earth plane. In her new book, “Intuitive Communication With Your Baby’s Soul”, she teaches pregnant moms, new moms, and want to be moms (and dads) how to develop intuitive TWO-WAY communication with their unborn and new born babies.Intuitive Communication.jpg

In this book, you will learn the tools and techniques Sandra used to create a partnership with her daughter that helped her navigate a high-risk pregnancy. Sandra states, “I talked to my unborn daughter telepathically and she answered back! My daughter’s direction and guidance assisted me with beating the odds of my dire prognosis from my doctors.”

Here’s a short sample of what’s covered in this informative paperback: a simple grounding exercise, exercises to develop your intuition, a guided meditation to open your chakras and connect with your baby intuitively, and tips to develop a deep spiritual bond with your baby. This is a must read for expecting moms and anyone considering having a baby in the near future. Grandparents will find useful insights as well.
